Full Disclosure

Project Giver is a registered LLC and not a nonprofit organization. Due to restrictions and logistical limitations, we cannot accept material donations at this time. Instead, all funds raised will be managed by the organizer, Abbi Pelletier, and used to purchase high-quality, thoughtful items for individuals in psychiatric care. I highly recommend you sign up for the email list to stay up to date on all fundraising activities and possible events.

While Project Giver is an LLC, all profits go directly toward advancing our mission and providing comfort, dignity, and resilience to those in psychiatric care.

Questions?

What is Project Giver about?

It started from your own experience—recognizing how small gestures like a simple card or a kind message can mean everything during a vulnerable time. From that, it grew into a mission: to provide thoughtfully curated care packages filled with quality, meaningful items like journals, socks, snacks, puzzles, art supplies, and hygiene essentials.

At its heart, Project Giver is about:

  • Healing — reminding people that they are worthy of care and comfort.
  • Connection — showing that they are not forgotten and never truly alone.
  • Purpose — sparking resilience and hope through shared stories and acts of kindness.

It’s not just about giving things—it’s about giving meaning, dignity, and light in the darkest of places.

How does the fundraising work?

I’ve put a lot of thought into this year’s fundraising to make sure it runs smoothly and is as cost-effective as possible. This year, we’re raising money through Project Giver merchandise and straight donations through our storefront. Merchandise sales not only support the mission but also help spread awareness—thank you for that!

Here’s how much each item contributes to Project Giver’s mission:

Stickers with logo $2

Mug with logo + resilience quote $7

Hats $11

Shirt $20

Hoodies $25

With a higher goal in mind, purchasing personal care gift items in bulk will be the most efficient way to reach as many patients as possible, compared to last year’s Amazon wishlist approach. The Amazon wishlist will still be available, but it will focus on unit-specific gifts for hospital wards.

By combining merchandise sales and direct donations, we can fund the maximum number of gift bags, ensuring every patient receives a comforting and thoughtful gift this holiday season.

Where does the money go?

Every dollar raised through Project Giver goes directly toward creating and delivering care packages for individuals in psychiatric facilities.

These packages are thoughtfully curated with items chosen to bring comfort, dignity, and a sense of connection. They often include:

  • Journals & utensils for reflection
  • Cozy socks & blankets for comfort
  • Snacks & treats for a sense of normalcy
  • Art supplies & puzzles to ease the mind
  • Hygiene essentials to restore dignity
  • Small gifts that simply spark joy

In addition to individual care packages, Project Giver also provides material donations for the wards themselves—classroom-sized boxes of markers, multiple puzzles, coloring supplies, journals, and more. These shared items give patients ways to connect, create, and feel a sense of community during their stay.

Your support ensures that both individuals and entire wards are reminded they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Are there other ways to help out/can I donate items directly?

As the holiday season approaches, Project Giver will be launching additional fundraising opportunities to help us reach even more individuals in psychiatric care. Want to stay in the loop? Join our email list to receive updates on every fundraising effort and learn how you can be part of the impact.

For safety reasons, we cannot accept direct material donations. Instead, supporters can contribute through direct donations available in our storefront, and starting in November, curated Amazon lists will be launched so you can purchase items that go straight toward our mission.

Does buying merch support the mission?

Yes! Every purchase helps fund Project Giver. Profits from merchandise sales go directly toward purchasing comfort items for individuals in psychiatric care, so your order has a real and lasting impact.

Where can I send the Christmas cards?

I love the enthusiasm! These special touches mean so much and add the love each gift deserves. For now, please keep them close to your heart—I’ll share details soon on where you can send them my way.

What if I want to share my story?

Yes! If you are feeling inclined, please do. Hearing and sharing our stories truly brings the community together. You can send your story through the contact form, and with your permission, I can share it anonymously on the blog page. This way, everyone’s story of resilience can spark resilience in others.

About Our Products

All Project Giver merchandise is produced and fulfilled through a drop-shipping company Printful. This means we don’t keep products in stock or ship them ourselves. Instead, when you place an order, the item is created, packaged, and shipped directly from our production partner.

Why do we use drop-shipping?

  • It keeps costs low, so more funds can go toward Project Giver’s mission.

  • It allows us to offer a wider variety of products and designs.

  • It ensures efficient, professional fulfillment without delays.

Important to note:

  • Because items are made-to-order, shipping times may vary.

  • Returns or exchanges are limited, since each product is created specifically for your order.

By choosing drop-shipping, we can focus on what matters most: providing high-quality, thoughtful items for individuals in psychiatric care.

When will I get my order?

The arrival of your order depends on the shipping policies of the company fulfilling it. Since all Project Giver merchandise is produced through a drop-shipping partner, items are made-to-order and shipped directly from their fulfillment center. Shipping times can vary based on the product, location, and carrier. Once your order is placed, you’ll receive tracking information so you can follow its journey.

Are my donations/purchases tax-deductible?

Because Project Giver is an LLC and not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donations are not tax-deductible. However, you can give with confidence knowing that 100% of profits are used to further the mission and provide meaningful items to those in care.

Who is the founder and organizer?

Abbi Pelletier is the founder and organizer of Project Giver. Inspired by her own experiences in psychiatric care, she started Project Giver five years ago with a simple act of giving—bringing books, puzzle books, and journals to a hospital after her stay. What began as a small gesture over the holidays has grown into a vibrant community dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality items to individuals in care. Every part of Project Giver reflects Abbi’s passion, heart, and dedication, and she continues to be deeply moved by the stories and support shared by the community.
